01 / A LIFE ON SNOW
A childhood passion. A remarkable journey.
For American snowboard cross athlete Faye Thelen, the mountains have been part of her story since childhood. Introduced to snowboarding by her older siblings at eight years old, she went on to make her Olympic debut at just 17 in Vancouver in 2010.
That first appearance began a journey across five consecutive Winter Games. Faye earned a career-best Olympic fourth place in Sochi in 2014 and returned to finish seventh in women's snowboard cross at Milano Cortina in 2026.
The results record an extraordinary commitment to her sport. The life she has built alongside competition gives that journey another dimension.
02 / A NEW CHAPTER
Making room for what matters.
After the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, Faye stepped away from competition to focus on family. She returned for the 2025–26 season, with her children, Theo and Scarlett, joining her on the journey.
Her return brings together two important parts of her life: family and snowboarding. It also offers something many of us can relate to—the effort to make time for a passion as our responsibilities change.
For anyone who has picked up a board again after time away, or planned a snow trip around a busy family calendar, there is something familiar in that decision to return.
